VERITAS Storage Foundation Basic: インストール編 [VERITAS]
とりあえず、CentOS 4.xから5.xのUpdateの際に、（うちの場合は）最も問題になるVERITAS Storage Foundation Basicの対応を検証するため、今一度、仮想環境にインストールしてみました。

にインストールした後の事は、多少書いていますが、まあ、その程度という事で、今回、まじめに記録を取ってみました。
まずは準備。
とりあえず、OSをインストールするディスク以外に、VxVMで管理するディスクを追加します。
OSをインストールする前に用意するなら、LVMの管轄下に入れないように注意しましょう。
お次の準備は、VERITAS Storage Foundation Basic本体。

上記URLにアクセスして、必要事項を入力して、Linux用パッケージを入手します。
RHEL[45]+SUSE{9,10}用の4パッケージが含まれているので、でかいです。
3分割されて配布されているので、くっつけます。
さて、ここで、OSのインストールが終わっていると仮定して、以下、ログ。
なお、ホスト名は「centos」で、FQDNで運用している物とします。
ドメイン名は仮に「YOURDOMAIN」としています。
まずは、tar ballを展開。
終わったら、消しておきましょう。でかすぎるので。
でもって、展開されたディレクトリに移動。
SUSEは関係ないので、削除。
とりあえず、CentOS 4.xへのインストールなのでRHEL4用をインストール。
インストーラーを起動すると...

ってことで「y」。
ココでは「centos」です。
まあ、なんでもいいのですが、どーせ家で使う分には、グループを１個ぐらいしか作らないですから、ホスト名と一緒の方が、楽です。
FQDNで運用していない場合は、知りません。
これで、インストールはおしまいです。

Veritas Volume Manager default disk group name configuration:
